Some outdoor plans are less about the destination and more about the feeling they leave behind—a little fresh air, a walk beside the river and time outdoors with a four-legged companion.
Located at the south end of No. 3 Road near Dyke Road in Richmond, No. 3 Road Bark Park is an informal off-leash dog area along the South Arm of the Fraser River. With gravel trails, open lawn, shade trees, benches and picnic tables, it offers a relaxed place for dogs and their owners to get outside. The park is also shared by walkers, joggers, cyclists and people using wheelchairs or strollers.
A Simple Escape by the River
Follow the gravel trails, take a break on a bench or enjoy the open surroundings while your dog explores the designated off-leash area. The riverside setting offers a pleasant change of pace, while whimsical dog-themed public art gives the park a distinctive character.
This is a shared-use space, so keep an eye out for cyclists, joggers and other visitors as you walk. Dogs must remain under control, within sight and under effective verbal control while off leash.
Whether you’re looking for a place to exercise your dog, enjoy a casual riverside stroll or spend a little time outdoors, No. 3 Road Bark Park offers an easy way to enjoy Richmond’s South Dyke area.
Its charm lies in its simplicity: open grass, shaded resting spots, gravel paths and the nearby Fraser River—a welcoming outdoor space designed with dogs and their people in mind.

Before You Go
No. 3 Road Bark Park is a shared-use space, not a dog-only enclosure. Walkers, joggers, cyclists and people using wheelchairs or strollers also use the trails, so stay alert and give other visitors room to pass.
Keep your dog on leash when entering and leaving the off-leash area. While off leash, dogs must remain under control and within sight, and owners must maintain effective verbal control. Carry a leash at all times, clean up after your dog and ensure its current City of Richmond licence is visibly displayed.
The City’s published guidance allows a maximum of three dogs per handler. Any dog showing aggressive behaviour must be leashed immediately.
The park has gravel trails, benches and picnic tables, but the City describes it as an informal off-leash area with shared recreational uses. Check posted signs and current City guidance before your visit, and take care around cyclists and other trail users.
