Starbucks Rewards members in Canada can receive one complimentary item for their birthday. You can choose:
One handcrafted beverage
One food item
One ready-to-drink bottled beverage
That could mean your favourite latte, Frappuccino, breakfast sandwich, bakery treat or another eligible item from the menu.
What You Need to Do
To qualify for the Birthday Reward:
Join Starbucks Rewards at least seven days before your birthday.
Add your birthday to your account.
Complete at least one Star-earning transaction before your birthday each year.
Check the Starbucks app when your birthday arrives.
If you have completed all the requirements, the reward will be added to your account automatically on your birthday.
Starbucks Rewards is free to join, but this is not a completely purchase-free offer—you must complete one eligible transaction that earns Stars before your birthday.
How Long Do You Have to Use It?
Your redemption window depends on your Starbucks Rewards level:
Green members: Valid only on your birthday
Gold members: Valid for seven days beginning on your birthday
Reserve members: Valid for thirty days beginning on your birthday
If you are a Green member, plan ahead. Your reward expires after your birthday, so don’t leave it for another day.
How to Redeem Your Birthday Treat
Visit a participating Starbucks location and scan your member barcode in the Starbucks app or present your registered Starbucks Card.
The Birthday Reward cannot be used for:
Alcoholic beverages
Merchandise
Packaged coffee
Multi-serve food or drink items, such as a Coffee Traveler
Availability may vary by location, and the reward can only be redeemed at participating Starbucks stores.
